Founder & licensed building practitioner
William
With over 25 years of experience in the building industry, William Malakai brings hands-on expertise and a deep understanding of homes in Auckland’s unique environments. Starting his career as a builder, William developed a reputation for his strong work ethic and dedication to quality. His recent work with a local charitable trust has deepened his commitment to helping make a real difference in local communities.
William mentored senior high school students from low-decile South Auckland schools, teaching them practical construction skills while helping them find their footing in the working world. This experience sparked a passion for guiding others and using his expertise for the greater good.
After being approached by a number of friends and family members who were receiving long, confusing and overly complicated pre purchase inspections, William realized there was a real need for a no nonsense, localized approach to building inspections
Now, as the founder of Bay Building Reports, William is focused on helping homeowners make informed decisions. His practical, no-nonsense approach ensures clients receive clear, honest insights into the condition of their homes. Whether offering building reports, consultation services, or advice on sustainability, William is dedicated to improving the quality of homes and lives in his community.
